Welcome to the website of Doctor Paul Prewitt

  Dr. Paul Prewitt has been practicing Internal Medicine in Laguna Beach since 1976.  He grew up in Briarcliff Manor, New York.  Dr. Prewitt graduated from Yale University (B.A. 1967), State University of New York Downstate Medical Center (M.D. 1971) and post-graduate Internal Medicine residency training at University of Southern California-Los Angeles County Medical Center in 1976.  Dr. Prewitt served with the U.S. Marines, 1st Marine Division, as  Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps from 1973-1975.

  Dr. Prewitt is married with two grown children.  His wife is a former clinical social worker, a freelance writer, a public relations consultant for the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and co-founder of Laguna Beach Live. 

 His daughter is a high school teacher and a commercial photographer.  Dr. Prewitt's son is a former Laguna Beach Police Reserve officer and owns businesses which provide legal services online for corporations and law firms.

   Dr. Prewitt has been an active staff member of South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach since 1976.  He has served as chairman of the Utilization Committee, member of the Medical Executive Committee, member of the Board of Directors and president of the Medical Staff.  Currently, he is a member of the California Medical Association, Orange County Medical Association and American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.  Dr. Prewitt has authored articles for “Yahoo Internet Life” about finding credible Internet medical information websites.  In his free time, he enjoys computing, hiking, golf, travel and photography.
